Professional background

Dr Kalyani Terli is a consultant psychiatrist and Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP), with extensive experience in general adult and old age psychiatry.

She currently works as a Staff Specialist Psychiatrist with Queensland Health, also provides psychiatric care in private practice. She has completed advanced training in Old Age Psychiatry and has a particular expertise in assessing and treating older adults experiencing mood disorders, anxiety and neurocognitive disorders, including dementia.

Dr Terli completed her medical degree (MBBS) in India before moving to the United Kingdom, where she undertook postgraduate psychiatric training and became a Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych). She subsequently continued her specialist career in Old Age psychiatry in Australia and obtained Fellowship of the RANZCP.

Having trained and worked across India, the United Kingdom and Australia, Dr Terli brings a broad cultural perspective to her practice and understands the importance of considering each person's cultural, family and social background when providing psychiatric care.

 Dr Terli aims to work collaboratively with patients, their families and other health professionals to support recovery, restore function and help people achieve meaningful personal goals.

She is also qualified to provide transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) and has experience across a broad range of adult psychiatric conditions.

Alongside her clinical work, Dr Terli is an accredited RANZCP training supervisor and maintains an active interest in the education and supervision of psychiatry registrars and medical students.
